Bracket Update 3/5/13

Two posts today, beginning with a quick bracket update through Monday’s games. First, ten teams are now within range of a #1 seed, including my 1 and 2 seeds, plus Michigan and Michigan St. Second, the usual soft bubble leaves plenty of room in the field for any bubble team that decides to pick up a couple of big wins. Note the huge gap between Virginia at #41 and Middle Tennesse at #42. That split denotes teams that should feel safe and those that should not at this point in time. Virginia would feel safer after their win over Duke had they not let a 10 point second half lead slip away at Boston College. Such is life on the bubble.

Conference tournaments start today with seven games in the Big South and Horizon. Nothing of real significance occurs until later in the week.
